Kim Hurley - Artistic Director

Kim has been teaching Dance and Choreographing for over 20 years. She is knowledgable in all Genres of Dance.  She has worked on local performances for “A Chorus Line”, “Fame”, and “Grease”. She choreographed Keyano Theatre's 2011 Musical "All Shook Up". In February 2013 she choreographed and starred in local musical "HomeTown, The Musical".  Recently Kim was the choreographer for Keyano Theatre Company's "Cabaret" & "Footloose".  She has taken many professional classes in LA, Florida, NY and Las Vegas to further her knowledge. She has worked on choreography for neighbouring Alberta schools and is sought after across the province for her teaching skills.  She has been recognized by agents who represent Dance Educators for her choreography. She has been featured in Dance Studio Life Magazine for her Artistic Direction and Business Operations. She prides herself on her dancers’ accomplishments – as they have obtained numerous titles with her choreography and training. And many are successful Artists in the Industry.  She is also the Artistic Director for "Northern Dance Off" Festival, and her most current upcoming project will be the Artistic Director for the Opening Ceremonies of the 2018 Wood Buffalo Alberta Winter Games. Her expertise as an instructor, choreographer and Artistic Director has given her dancers key elements in life long dance careers. 

Melinda Richter - Instructor


Melinda began her dance training at Generation Dance Studio. At the age of fifteen Melinda was one of two Canadians chosen out of hundreds of dancers from the United States to take part in a six week US National Tour with Hoctor’s Dance Caravan. At seventeen Melinda moved to Vancouver where she became a member of The Source Dance Company under the direction of Joanne Pesusich. Performing in such shows as: "Zig or Zag…" "The Choice is Yours", "Scratch That", "Grease", "Fashion Music Arts Awards" and "For the Love of it". She has won and received numerous awards and scholarships for her dance and chorography abilities. Winning the 2009 Young Choreographer award at Edmonton’s American Dance Awards for her contemporary group number called “Walk the Line.” Recently receiving an outburst of accolades for her piece "Come Home" a tribute to Murdered and Missing Aboriginal Woman, Melinda is a fabulous choreographer. Melinda is also an up and coming young playwright who’s play "Rez In The City" has been showcased two years in a row at Native Earths Performing Arts Wessageechak Theatre festival in Toronto; Along with Cross Currents at Factory Theatre in Toronto. A Graduate of Toronto Media and Film College she has previously worked on the first season of "BLACKSTONE", on Showcase and APTN in early 2011. Many people say this young woman has a very bright and promising career ahead of her.

Jenna Fewer - Choreographer


Jenna began her dance training right here in Fort McMurray and is so proud to be sharing her passion with the young artists of our community. Jenna has had extensive training in many genres of dance over the past 17 years including Jazz, Tap, Ballet, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Modern and Contemporary. Her most recent love is choreographing. She has been choreographing competitively and non-competitively for four years. Being a choreographer allows her tell stories and to watch the hard work of her and her dancers really come to life. It truly is such a special way to express yourself. Over the years Jenna has won many awards at competitions across Canada for her dancing. At seventeen, Jenna moved to Vancouver, BC and danced with The Source Dance Company under the direction of Joanne and Alex Pesusich for two seasons. During this time she had the opportunity to work with some of North America’s top choreographers and perform in many shows including, “Stories From The West Side”, “Finding Wonderland”, “ IYI Dance Inspired”,  “Under One Roof”, “ Van City Project” and “The Breakthrough Movement, NYC”. Most recently, Jenna had the pleasure of choreographing for Keyano Theatre’s Drama Force, in their production of “Peter Pan Jr.”
