Alexandra Fontaine - Instructor

Alex has been dancing since she was five years old at Kirkwood Academy in Nanaimo, BC, which she trained and competed in ballet, pointe, jazz, lyrical jazz and modern.  During this time, she had many amazing opportunities, including dancing in California and New York with Dance the Magic for large audiences.  Alex has also competed in BC Provincials in various categories, and won the Stage II Provincial winner title in 2011.  After her studio career, Alex moved to Vancouver, BC to further pursue dance with the Source Dance Company under the direction of Joanne and Alex Pesusich, and Aviary Dance Company with Julio Fuentes.  Here she gained knowledge and training in hip hop and street jazz, and further expanding her previous knowledge.  This allowed her to work with many influencing choreographers for live performance shows such as “Under One Roof”, “iYi Dance Inspired”, “The Main Event”, “Brilliant!”, “Stories from the West Side” and “Finding Wonderland”.  Along with performances, Alex has had various experiences in film, including music videos for pop artist Laurell, and commercials including “Oil of Olay” and “Seren”. Now Alex is very excited to expand her teaching knowledge here at Generation Dance Studio for these wonderful and hardworking students.
